The court made it clear
that parishioners who swear allegiance to the 1934 Constitution
of the Malankara Church alone shall be entitled to participate
in the election.
The order was issued on a writ petition filed by Church Trustee
M V George and 23 parishioners.
The church remained closed since September 03, 2003, following
factional dispute between the Orthodox and Jacobite groups.
It rejected the contempt of court case against Vicar Fr John of
the Moolamattom Church and Puthencruz Sub Inspector of Police T
V. Jacob, finding that the petition was an abuse of the process
