His Holiness Baselius Marthoma Mathews II is back to normal from
the recent illness. He has been discharged from Kolencherry
Medical College hospital today and reached Devalokam Aramana
Kottayam at 4.30pm. His Holiness may requires some more days
rest , now he is fine though some problems with his eye sight,
as per the Kolencherry Medical College authorities.
As per the desire of His Holiness to entrust the
responsibilities of the day today administration of Malankara
Orthodox Church to the Catholicos Elect a meeting of the Working
Committee was held on Monday Jan 17 4pm. As the Assistant to the
Malankara Metropolitan and Catholicos, the Catholicos Elect His
Beatitude Thomas Mar Themothios presided over the meeting at
Devalokam Aramana. H.G. Mathews Mar Epiphanios was also present
in this meeting. After the meeting the working committee members
visited His Holiness at the Hospital and discussed the matter
with him. The outcome of the meeting is yet to be known.
On Wednesday Jan 19 His
Holiness will preside over the Standing committee of the Church
to discuss the consecration of the new Bishop elects of the
Church and other important matters of the Church.
His Holiness was admitted in Kolencherry Medical College
Hospital on Friday at 7.30 PM . Prior to this he was admitted in
Century Hospital Chengannur on Friday after a severe flue
infection from where he was taken into Kangazha MGDM Hospital.
After reaching Kangazha Hospital, His Holiness went into coma
for acute diabetes increase. Now His Holiness is picking up the
eye sight also.
On January 6 His Holiness had attended the consecration of the
Piralassery Church and presided over the public meeting there.
Late night his health conditions deteriorated, and then he was
taken to the Century Hospital and later on to Kolencherry
Medical College hospital.
