Abune Mathias, Archbishop of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church in Jerusalem, is elected as the new Patriarch of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church on February 28, 2013. He has been serving as archbishop of the church in Jerusalem and has lived abroad for more than 30 years.
