The 30th Day of the demise of Valiya Bava will be observed on June 25

KOTTAYAM: The 30th Day of the demise of His Holiness Baselios Marthoma Dydimus me, the former Catholicos and Malankara Metropolitan will be observed on 25th June 2014 at the Catholicate Aramana Chapel, Devalokam.

The Morning Prayer will begin at 7am followed by Holy Qurbana, prayer of incense, memorial speech on the day.

The 40th Day will be conducted on Saturday July 5, 2014 at Mount Tabore Dayara Chapel, Pathanapuram where His Holiness is entombed. The service shall be led by the supreme head of the Church HH Baselios Marthoma Paulose II and other Metropolitans. Morning Prayer at 7:30 a.m. will be followed by Holy Qurbana, commemorative speech, prayer of incense, Nerchavilambu and Adiyanthara Sadhya.

His Holiness Baselios Marthoma Didymus I Valiya Bava, the Thapasa Jyothis of Malankara Sabha passed away on Monday May 26, 2014.

“The demise of the Holy Father is indeed an irreparable loss to the whole Church .The Church lost a great monk who waited on hours of prayer and traversed his entire life along with God through incessant communion with the Almighty, fasting and prayer” said the Catholicos Baselios Marthoma Paulos II in his encyclical to the parishes.

“It is because of the Bavai‚Äôs spotless pastoral life characterized by unflinching faith in God and unparalleled dedication that he could strengthen the walls of the Church, keep the faith of the Church undiluted and reinforce the administrative machinery of the Church”, Catholicos added.

” Special prayer of incense should be offered in all the parishes during the Holy Qurbana and the Church ought to observe as the days of fasting until the 40th day and, again, all the celebrations of festal days, if any, of the Parishes should be avoided” His Holiness instructed.
