NEW DELHI: The consecration of Mar Gregorios Orthodox Church in Janakpuri, New Delhi, also known as the ‘Parumala of the North’ will be consecrated on October, 26 & 27, 2013.
Moran Mar Baselios Marthoma Paulose II will be the chief celebrant on the occasion. Dr. Yuhanon Mar Demetrius, Metropolitan of the Delhi diocese, Dr. Yuhanon Mar Dioscoros, Metropolitan of the Chennai diocese and Yakoob Mar Elias, Metropolitan of the Brahmavar diocese will assist the Catholicos at the ceremony.
The annual feast of patron, Saint Gregorios of Parumala will be celebrated from October 27 to November.3, 2013.
The church, the second to be built in Delhi diocese is a center for pilgrimage to all faiths ever since 1980, when it was consecrated. The church also holds some of the Holy vestments of Parumala Thirumeni.
Over 650 families registered as its members, the parish is also the largest congregation of Malankara Orthodox Christians in Delhi.
