BENGALURU: The nascent Banglore Diocese’s Students Ministry under Metropolitan Dr Abraham Mar Seraphim and student counsellor Fr Cyril Varghese Vadakadathu has now reached a turning point.

Dr Mar Seraphim had appointed Fr Cyril as a full time Student Chaplain priest for the Student Ministry of Bengaluru Diocese from June 2012. The appointment vide Kalpana No 64/2012 dated June 17, 2012, is in tune with Dr Mar Seraphim’s report submitted to the Holy Episcopal Synod which suggested a roadmap to vision for the youth ministry.

Dr Mar Seraphim has appreciated Fr Cyril’s efforts for the dedication he has shown towards initiating steps to enrich the spiritual life of the students in Bengaluru.

“I am happy to note that regular Holy Eucharist, Bible study, prayer meetings and counselling conducted in the colleges were helping students enrich their spiritual life. As a Student Chaplain, Rev Fr Cyril is doing commendable work and I wish the student ministry great success. ”

The Students Ministry is proud to note that all the students from various colleges under the Ministry are enriching their spiritual ability immensely. Under the leadership of Fr Cyril, students from colleges in and around Bengaluru are holding prayer meetings, Bible study classes each day.

Fr Cyril says: “I am very thankful to God and for those who are supporting this Ministry which has given me an opportunity to lead the students in a proper manner through its various activities. For the success of this Ministry, the support of each person is very much needed. My prayers will be for those who are helping for the success of this Ministry.”

A new Students Diary was launched in January 2013. About 1,500 copies were distributed among the colleges in Bengaluru city. The diary containing details of information of all students was released at the recent Pravaasi Students Conference called ‘Manna 2013′ in Bengaluru. Over 350 students under Fr Cyril attended the hugely successful conference.
