KOREA (Chhattisgarh): Metropolitan Dr. Joseph Mar Dionysius was given a rousing reception by the Parishes in and around Korba.
Holy Qurbana was celebrated by Mar Dionysius at St. George Chirmiri, attended by members from Bishrampur, Baikuntpur, Manendragarh, Bijuri & Rajnagar Congregations and as well as members of Marthoma Church.
Various cultural activities marked the public meeting.
Fr. Joshi Varghese, Vicar welcomed the gathering and P.C. Varghese, proposed vote of thanks.
Korba is one of the North-West District of Chhattisgarh State. The District came into existence on 25th May 1998 in Madhya Pradesh. Its parent District was Surguja. After the formation of new State of Chhattisgarh on 1st November 2000, the District falls under the Chhattisgarh. The District has derived its name from the Korba State, the former princely State Korba.
