Symbolic enactment of Koonan Cross Oath conducted in Abu Dhabi

ABU DHABI: OCYM unit of the St George Orthodox Cathedral, Abu Dhabi celebrated the 360th anniversary of the great Koonan Cross Oath, the first reported independence movement against colonization, by a symbolic enactment of the Koonan Cross Oath on January 4, 2013 at the Cathedral premises.

Fr. V.C Jose, Vicar – St George Orthodox Cathedral Abu Dhabi gave the introductory speech. P.S Baby, the Cathedral Secretary spoke on the occasion.

The Oath of Allegiance to the Catholicate was administered by Fr. V.C Jose in the presence of Asst. Vicar Fr. Cherian K Jacob and Cathedral trustee P.A Abraham.

The program concluded with Catholica Mangalaganam, Prayer and benediction.

The celebration was under the auspices of the Cathedral managing committee and other spiritual organizations of St George Orthodox Cathedral Abu Dhabi.
