Dr Mar Yulios chief celebrant at Goa St Mary’s Church’s St Mary’s Feast

VASCO-DA GAMA : Metropolitan Pulikkottil Dr Geevarghese Mar Yulios will be the chief celebrant for the 45th Annual Feast to commemorate assumption of St Mary at the St Mary’s Orthodox Church Goa, Vasco-Da-Gama on August 15, 2012.

The Metropolitan is also leading the gospel convention from August 12 to 14.

Earlier, St Mary’s Church welcomed Dr Geevarghese Mar Yulios on August 12 after which there were evening prayers and devotional songs rendered by the church choir. This was followed by a gospel meeting and love feast among the parishioners.

On August 15, Dr Mar Yulios will be the chief celebrant at the Holy Eucharist followed by intercession prayers from 8 am. This will be followed by nerchavilambu and charity programmes. In the evening there will be evening prayers followed by lowering of the flag, thus culminating the two-week long programme which began from August 31.

The retreat and Bible classes were conducted by Rev Fr Dr O Thomas, OSSE, Director, Professor of Orthdox Theological Seminary. A blood donation camp was also organised by the MGOCSM unit of the church on August 11.

St Mary’s Church Vicar Fr K M Oommen and managing committee under K V Jose (Trustee), Yohannan Alexander (Personnel Convener) and Joji Thomas (Secretary) have requested the faithful to participate in large numbers.
