ELLICOTT CITY, Maryland : Pulikkottil Dr Geevarghese Mar Yulios, Metropolitan of Ahmedabad Diocese, has complimented Fr Alexander J Kurien on his attaining the Silver Jubilee of priestly ordination. The Metropolitan has wished all success to the celebrations connected with the event.

In a Kalpana dated June 28, 2012, issued from the United States, Dr Mar Yulios has greatly acknowledged the valuable contributions of Fr Alexander Kurien to the nation and to the society at large and also the services rendered to the church as a ‘vibrant leader which was a source of inspiration for many.’

The Metropolitan further notes: “The two functions of priesthood, as referred to in Church-doctrines, are Enlightening and Sanctifying people through the dispensation of the Word of God both in Preaching and officiating Holy Sacraments. May our Lord help you to continue to serve Him and His people!”

Dr Mar Yulios has shared his Apostolic blessings to the most beloved Vicar, Kochamma and children, and thanks God Almighty on the wonderful occasion of the Silver Jubilee celebrations of Fr Alexander Kurien.

  1. “Let the grace that is in you through the laying on of hands be rekindled.”
    (2 Timothy 1:8)

We are all called to serve him. Every call of God originates from our Lord and
savior Jesus Christ. It was God who called Abraham, and blessed him to be the
father of a nation. It was God who called Nehemiah to lift up the wall and
return the glory of God to the people of Israel. Jesus was called the common man
(fisherman) to be with Him, and send his disciples to different parts of the
world to preach the Gospel. The ancient Church commissioned Paul and Barnabas to
the missionary field which made a very significant development in the history of
    the new church.

When Fr. Alexander Kurian celebrates his 25th ORDINATION ANNIVERSARY,
it’s about CHRIST whom he exemplifies, and the way he touches the lives of so
many especially the Malayali community. I express HIS love and gratitude to Fr.
Alexander Kurien. It is an incredible experience to serve in the altar with him
during the year 1998-2008.”For it is God who works in you to will and to act in
order to fulfill his good purpose.”(Phil 2:13) Thank you for the invitation!

May the Lord bless you on this special day and for all the years to come!

    Thankkful for your prayers,

Congratulations to Rev. Fr. Alexander J. Kurien on his 25th anniversary of ordiantion as a priest. I am extremely happy to know that Achen is dedicated to serve his flocks and community in washington.
Once I read a report highligting his posiiton as an official of the States Department and felt unhappy that Godly given preistly responsiblities were not highlighted enough in that piece about Achen. It is indeed a pleasure to hear from Achen’s own church member about his work among the faithful.
We wish achen could come to Kerala and share his lessosn with the priests here.,

I wish to congratulate Rev. Fr. Alexander J. Kurien on this solemn occasion of celebrating the 25th anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood.

Achen has been a vibrant presence in the spiritual and social lives of so many people in the Washington DC metro area for about two decades. It is very hard to list Achen’s contributions to our community in a few words. He’ll be long remembered as a visionary, an exceptionally talented organizer, an efficient motivator, a sincere friend, and above all a compassionate spiritual leader.

Achen’s flair to connect with, motivate and stimulate our youth is indeed
incredible, to say the least. Achen would be present in the homes or in the
hospital room of any member of this community who might be going through any
    kind of difficulty.

He is one of the very few spiritual leaders who are capable of recognizing the changing social, spiritual, emotional needs of Syrian Christians who migrated to the US in the last 40 plus years.

Sometimes we often wonder as to how it is humanly possible for anyone to juggle
a hectic official life that demands a lot of international assignments to
various parts of the globe with the spiritual needs of the community members. But it’s a fact that when anyone is in the hospital he is by his/her bed and when there is a loss of a dear one, he is the first to appear at the door with the incense-fragrance of comfort and consolation. Through his ministry, he was able to touch the lives of so many people of our community.

We sincerely pray and wish well for Achen’s ministry. We are deeply obliged to Achen for his prayers and support. We thank Achen for his remarkable contributions to our community. We pray sincerely to God Almighty to give Achen strength and divine guidance in his future endeavors.

We wish to thank members of St. Greogorios Church, Ben Salem, PA, for organizing the 25th Anniversary of Achen’s Ordination on July 1st, 2012.
