NE American Diocese conducting Liturgical Music workshop on April 28

NEW YORK: Northeast American Diocese is conducting a Liturgical Music workshop on Saturday, April 28, 2012 from 2PM to 6PM at St. Gregorios Orthodox Church of Queens, New York. Fr. M. P. George, Director of SRUTHI School of Liturgical Music, will be the Direcetor for this workshop.Fr. M. P. George is an expert and master of liturgical music, especially within our West Syriac Liturgical Tradition.

There would be a nominal fee of $5 for each participant to cover necessary expenses of the workshop. The Church is located at 987 Elmont Road, North Valley Stream, New York.

“Maximum number of choir members from each parish are expected to to participate in the rare workshop. The anticipated wholehearted support for this workshop and of all our parishes in this workshop, would not only enhance our parish worship life, but also help educate and institute some proper and necessary guidelines in our liturgical worship. This will ensure a more heavenly and meditative liturgical worship services throughout our parishes, which will ultimately create a spiritual awakening in the life of our Diocese” said Mar Nicholovos in his Kalpana to all the parishes of the diocese.

“The heart and expression of our precious Orthodox Christian Faith is found in the liturgical worship of our Holy Church. We are grateful to find the talent and dedication of the liturgical choirs throughout almost all the parishes of the Diocese, who assist in the divine worship services. In order to promote a sense of unity, education, and etiquette when it comes to the liturgical worship services in all parishes of the Diocese, through this workshop” Mar Nicholovos added.
