Dr Mar Seraphim, Fr Aby Philip Main Convention Speakers at Meltho 2012

BENGALURU: Orthodox parishes in Bengaluru organized their seventh Bengaluru Orthodox Convention. Meltho 2012 was held for 3 days from March 9 to 11 at the India Campus Crusade auditorium, St Thomas Town.

HG Dr Abraham Mar Seraphim, Metropolitan of Bengaluru Diocese and Rev Fr Aby Philip Karthikapally were the main convention speakers.

On all the three days, there were evening prayers, devotional songs and spiritual discourses.

On the concluding day, Dr Mar Seraphim led the Holy Eucharist.

A 43member choir from a combination of 10 churches in Bengaluru sang spiritual songs.

Another highlight of the convention was the release of an audio CD titled Nanma Niranja Vishudhar. Dr Mar Seraphim released the CD for which the songs were written by Rev Fr Varghese P Idichandy.

The CD comprises of 16 songs dedicated to 8 Holy Saints of Malankara Sabha namely St Mary, St John the Baptist, St Stephen, St Thomas, St George, St Baseliose, St Gregoriose and St Dionysius. All songs were designed with introduction to the saints, music scored in two traditional Orthodox tunes, which can be used for all for all harvest processions and services. Anish Cherian has done the music and orchestration.
