Houston: HG Pulikkottil Dr Geevarghese Mar Yulios, Ahmedabad Diocese Metropolitan, has begun a 17-day pastoral visit to the United States which will take him to three states of Houston, Chicago and New York. This will be the Metropolitan’s third visit to the United States after his consecration as a Bishop.
At the St Thomas Orthodox Church of India, Houston, Dr Mar Yulios will lead the parish day and convention. He will be preaching at the sessions and Lenten conventions. Way back in 2005, the same convention was started by the Metropolitan and the tradition continues.
In Chicago, Illinois, the Metropolitan will conduct a Lenten retreat season for all the four parishes under the Diocese of South-West America in the city.
His Grace will be visiting Orthodox parishes in Chicago namely, St Gregorios Orthodox Church, (Oak Park), St Gregorios Orthodox Church, (Bellwood), St Mary’s Orthodox Church, and St Thomas Orthodox Church.
At New York, Dr Mar Yulios will be the retreat leader for the North East Diocesan priest meeting on March 24. His Grace will also be the chief celebrant and guest for the NE American Diocesan Catholicate Centenary celebrations on March 25, Sunday.
During the course of his visit, His Grace will be addressing sessions during the next few days before returning back to India on March 25 night.
His Grace will arrive in Kerala for the maiden meeting of the Managing Committee of the Malankara Association which will meet after the election of new members on March 28, Wednesday.
