KERALA : Jithin Philip from Manayil in Kerala is the son of an agriculturist studying to become a MBA. So are other students like Chinchu Babu from Arunkannil, Jinumol Raju from Parackal or Akhila Susan Issac from Paikattu with different ambitions.
All are young students from poor families of Kerala’s Idukki, a backward district. They have lofty aims to complete professional degree courses like CA, MCA or B Sc Nursing but their parents are from below the poverty line like farmers, helpers, tailor and drivers.
These determined and promising students are banking on the help of the rich and well-to-do for sponsors to complete their studies.
These students are from the lowest strata of the society. By supporting them with their education we are extending our Christian compassion and hope.
This is an educational assistance programme for poor students. Students from financially disadvantaged families are selected and listed on their online site.
The students need further support and sponsorship. From the IOH readers, those willing to support such under privileged kids with any amount, in your name or in memory of your loved ones or just anonymous can get in touch. These children need the help of one and all to break the generational cycle of poverty and misery.
As a Christmas gift, IOH readers are requested to mail their cheque to:
The Branch Manger, The Federal Bank Ltd,
Hillson Plaza, Kattappana PO, Kerala – 685 508, India
Account # 1426 0100 105273
Email: orthodoxherald@gmail.com

salam sir i am sakhawat i am doing mechanical engineering course .the financail and ecconomical problems compel me to apply for this sponsorship.
i would like to request please help me .i need your to continue my study.
Is the branch manager, Orthodox Christian? How would he know for what purpose the cheque is send for (unless attach letter with it)?
Suggestion:
The many requests for monetary assistance, published through online media, will not get a decent response, unless the receiver’s bank account is with a new age bank,(ie. banks with an IFSC code).
Majority of our new generation in Bangalore and elsewhere, use ‘Online banking’, and nobody does bother to go to bank, to make any transaction.
The church, should have ‘one account’ for charity purpose, with a decent bank(with IFSC Code) so that people around the globe can submit their monthy thithes to that particular account.
