Bahrain Foreign Minister Attends Honouring Ceremony of the Catholicose of the East

MANAMA: Foreign Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa today attended a ceremony hosted by St. Mary’s Indian Orthodox Church honour of Catholicos Baselios Marthoma Paulose II at the Indian School in Isa Town on Oct. 7, 2011

Catholicos HH Baselios Marthoma Paulose II yesterday (Oct 6) started a five-day visit to Bahrain. Shaikh Khalid welcomed Catholicos Baselios Marthoma Paulose II in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

He stressed the historic relations which dates back to thousands of years between Bahrain and India. He described India as a nice example of peaceful co-existence between religions, cultures and ethnics lauding its democracy which based on mutual respect between all components of the social spectrum.

He paid tribute to the Indian expatriate community, stressing its role in Bahrain’s development.

He reaffirmed Bahrain’s keenness of preserving all expatriate communities’ rights, regarding work, security and safety on the same footing with citizens.
