AHMEBADBAD: The newly-formed Ahmedabad Diocese under its young Metropolitan Dr Pulikkottil Geevarghese Mar Yulios has achieved a breakthrough after the formation of the diocese exactly a year ago.
The Diocese first declared congregation will now be located in the oasis of the desert at Mt Abu, a famous hill station in Rajasthan.
The Diocese purchased a piece of land at Abu Road on August 17, 2011 (Chingam 1st) and declared it as the first congregation after its formation.
Dr Mar Yulios had earlier extensively travelled to Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and parts of Saurashtra during his pastoral visits in 2010 and this year.
The Metropolitan along with Diocesan Secretary Fr Joji George, Vicar of Abu Road St Thomas Congregation Fr Philipose Abraham and members of the parish, Diocesan office Executive and Sabha Managing Committee Member P D Baby and Diocesan Council Member and Legal Adviser Advocate Mathai Mampallil paid a visit to the property in the hill top.
They graciously offered the land to His Almighty by performing prayers and Kukkilions immediately after the singing of the registration documents.
