SALALAH : Youhanon Mar Polycarpos, Metropolitan of Angamaly Diocese, inaugurated of the youth movement, MGOCYM at the St Stephen’s Orthodox Syrian Church for 2011-12. The Metropolitan lit the traditional lamp and launched the youth movement activities for the new year, wishing them all success.
Mar Polycarpos is also the president of MGOCYM.
Metropolitan urged the urged the youth movement to be active and to take up social welfare projects.
Mar Polycarpos is in Salalah as the chief celebrant for the Holy Week celebrations at the church this year.
Fr Isaac Thomas, new Vicar of St Stephen’s Orthodox Syrian Church, Salalah also presided.
A large number of parishners attended the event and made it a grand success. Biju R David, Secretary also spoke.
Earlier, on April 13, Mar Polycarpos was received upon arrival at the Salalah International Airport by the Church Vicar, Fr Isaac Thomas, members of the managing committee and parishioners.
