Dr Mar Yulios, chief celebrant at Baroda Valiapally for Holy Week

AHMEDABAD: Pulikkottil Dr Geevarghese Mar Yulios, Metropolitan of Ahmedabad, will be the chief celebrant at the Mar Gregorios Orthodox Valiapally, Baroda for the Holy Week from April 17 to 24. (till Easter Sunday).

Dr Mar Yulios will be the chief celebrant during the 40th Friday services on April 15 at the St Mary’s Orthodox Cathedral, Ahmedabad.

On April 16, The Saturday of Lazarus of Bethany, the Metropolitan will lead the mass at the Lazar cemetary at the Ahmedabad chapel and pray for all the departed souls.

For the Holy Week, Dr Mar Yulios will perform his services at the newly-elevated Mar Gregorios Orthodox Valiapally from Palm Sunday, Pass Over (Maundy Thursday), The Great Friday, Holy Saturday and Easter Sunday.

This will be the Metropolitan’s first Holy Week services after his consecration as new metropolitan of Ahmedabad Diocese. Dr Mar Yulios reached Gujarat by train after completing his enagagements in Kerala

The schedule is:
April 15: 40th Friday at Mary’s Orthodox Cathedral, Ahmedabad
April 16: The Saturday of Lazarus at Ahmedabad Chapel
April 17-24: Good Friday to Easter at Mar Gregorios Orthodox Valiapally, Baroda
