Dr Mar Yulios begins episcopal visit to Salalah

SALALAH : Pulikkottil Dr Geevarghese Mar Yulios, Metropolitan of Ahmedabad Diocese, begins a four-day episcopal visit to the coastal city of Salalah (1,200 kms south of Muscat) from March 24.

The Metropolitan will lead the Holy Eucharist at the St Stephens Orthodox Church, Salalah on Friday March 25 morning.

During his stay, Dr Mar Yulios will also lead the area prayer group meetings and undertake house visits to pray for the sick and the needy.

The Salalah schedule is:
March 24 (Thu): Arrival in Salalah
Evening Prayers
Annual celebrations of Sunday School students
March 25 (Fri): Leads Holy Eucharist at St Stephens Orthodox Church
10.30 am General Body of the church under the agenda:
Parsonage reconstruction, website for church and other matters
Send off for Rev Fr Saju Padachira, Vicar, St Stephens Church.

March 26 (Sat): House visit in Salalah area (1st Day)
March 27 (Sun): House visists continue (2nd Day)
March 28 (Mon): Early morning arrival in Muscat
This will be the Metropolitan’s second visit to Salalah within a week.

Last week, the Metropolitan had accompanied Catholicose and Malankara Metropolitan Moran Mar Baselious Marthoma Paulose II as per protocol on his visit to Salalah.

Orthodox churches in the Sultanate of Oman come under the Ahmedabad Diocese.
