MUSCAT: Moran Mar Baselious Marthoma Paulose II, Catholicose and Malankara Metropolitan bid good bye to the Sultanate of Oman after a successful three-day visit as host of Mar Gregorios Orthodox Church (MGOC).

In a short parting message to MGOC members gathered at the chapel, the Catholicose said: “The visit really created a deep bond of friendship akin to a father-son relationship. This bond and co-operation extended has made such an ‘imprint’ similar to years of friendship. I seek the help and prayers towards discharging my duties,” said the Supreme Head.

His Holiness also said the presence of Malankara Orthodox trinity — Fr Dr Johns Abraham Konattu (Priest-Trustee, MOSC), M G George Muthoot (Lay Trustee, MOSC) and Dr George Joseph (Malankara Association Secretary) also helped make the visit hugely successful.

MGOC Secretary John Thomas (Santhosh) thanked the Catholicos for his visit and wished good health for His Holiness and requested to convey regards to Moran Mar Baselious Marthoma Didymus I.

Cries of Jai, Jai Catholicose rent the air as His Holiness stepped out of the parsonage on way to Muscat International Airport.

Pulikkottil Dr Geevarghese Mar Yulios, Metropolitan of Ahmedabad Diocese, Fr James Geevarghese, Vicar, MGOC and managing committee members accompanied the Catholicos. The Catholicos left by the 11.30 am Jet Airways flight for Kochi.
