PUTHENKAVU, CHENGANNOOR: Moran Mar Baselios Marthoma Paulose II, Catholicos of the East and Malankara Metropolitan is the synonym for innocence, righteousness and love, acclaimed Philipose Mar Chrysostom Senior Metropolitan.

Mar Chrysostom was delivering the sermon of blessings at the meeting to honor the newly installed Catholicos of the East at St. Mary’s Cathedral, Puthenkavu, Chengannoor. The meeting was in association with the annual feast of Mar Anthraos of Kallada at the Cathedral.

It is very much a necessary faculty to recognize the will of God and that faculty shall reflect all through the life, responded the Pontiff in his return speech.

Metropolitan of Chengannoor Diocese Thomas Mar Athanasios presided over the meeting. Fr. Mathai Kunnil, Fr. Mathew Varghese, Stephan Ipe, Dr. Jibi George and T.C. Chacko spoke on the occasion.

Earlier the faithful welcomed the Holy Father at the entrance of the Cathedral with ornamental umbrellas, lighted candles, tender leaves of coconut trees and the Church flag, which exhibited the devotion of the faithful to their supreme spiritual shepherd. Percussional accompaniment and music bands added colors to the evening at the reception.

The Catholicos of the East led evening prayers that took place thereafter.
