KOTTAYAM: In the troubled atmosphere of political and social situations of Kerala Church has the mission to get involved in the society with creative interventions, said Mar Bosco Puthur, Curia Bishop of Syro-Malabar Rite of the Catholic Church. He was delivering the keynote address at the convocation ceremony of Orthodox Theological Seminary, Kottayam.
“Churches behave themselves as if they are affected with Parkinson’s decease. We shall not deliberately forget that we have a tradition of cooperation and unity”, he Bishop Mar Bosco Puthur.
Catholicos of the East and Malankara Metropolitan Moran Mar Baselios Marthoma Paulose II presided over the meeting. “Priests shall set out into the society with a right insight of spiritual wisdom, theological understanding and scientific knowledge. They shall act as the heart of the Church and the faith”, said the Pontiff in his presidential address.
Fr. Dr. K.M. George, the Principal presented the annual report. Metropolitans Geevarghese Mar Ivanios, Dr. Mathews Mar Severios, Zachariah Mar Nicholavos, Yuhanon Mar Polycarpos, Dr. Joseph Mar Dionysius, Dr. Zachariah Mar Aprem and Fr. Dr. Johns Abraham Konattu, Priest Trustee, attended the meeting. Seminary Vice-Principal Fr. Dr. Jacob Kurian and Fr. Dr. O. Thomas spoke on the occasion.
