A procession of exceptional devotion will take place on Tuesday, February 22nd after evening prayers from St. Mary’s Cheriyapalli, Kottayam to the Old Seminary Chapel, where the Saint has been entombed.

Catholicos Emeritus Mar Baselios Marthoma Didymus I and the Catholicos and Malankara Metropolitan Mar Baselios Marthoma Paulose II will be the lead celebrants for the Holy Trimass on Wednesday, February 23rd to mark the remembrance of the Saint, who has been the Pontiffs’ predecessor. Wednesday’s services will begin at 8.00 am. There will be festive procession after the Holy Qurbana as well.

The Supreme Head of Malankara Church issued a bull reminding all the faithful to attend the feast of the Saint. The bull also exhorts the clergy to organize processions and motorcades from respective Churches to make the festivities a big success.

Since the feast comes immediately after sessions of the Holy Episcopal Synod, all Metropolitans of the Church are to attend the celebrations.

We can honor the memory of St. Geevarghese Mar Dionysius by seeking unconditional and complete peace with our sister church. Through this we honor our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We do not declare people saints because they are people of war and hatred and his life of exemplary prayer is a testament as to why we declared him a saint. I know through reading about St. Dionysius’ life, I know he endured much trouble, but sought for peace and love with all until his passing. I ask all our brothers and sisters to ask Vatasseril Thirumeni to intercede on our behalf and to pray for peace and Christian love to reign supreme in the Holy Church and throughout the world! God bless you all!
