Special Honor to Benyamin from the Ministry for Oversees Indian Affairs

NEW DELHI: Benyamin, the Orthodox Diaspora novelist from Bahrain, who introduced the pain and struggle of people in the diaspora to the world through his powerful literary style, was honored at the nation’s capital.

The Ministry for Oversees Indian Affairs paid special tributes to Benyamin for his outstanding fictional abilities that were visibly exhibited in the novel, ‘Aadujeevitham’, which fetched him also the ‘Kerala Literary Academy Award’. Vayalar Ravi, Minister for Oversees Indian Affairs handed the honor over to him during the Gulf Seminar at the ‘Pravasi Bharatiya Divas’. Benyamin is attending the event as special invitee from the Central Government of India.

“Penguin Books is preparing an English translation of the novel ‘Aadujeevitham’. The Tamil translation is ready, while Hindi translation is at its preliminary stages. A feature film basing the novel will begin shooting in October”, said Benyamin.

Benyamin, a member of Orthodox Church, Bahrain, and hails from Kulanada, Pandalam, resides at Bahrain for the last seventeen years.
