KOTTAYAM: “For permanent peace within the Orthodox Church steps need to be taken in compliance with the 1934 Constitution as well as Supreme Court verdict of 1995”, said the Catholicos and Malankara Metropolitan Baselios Marthoma Paulose II.
The Pontiff cleared that all moves by the Jacobite faction to establish any bogus ownership at Thrikkunnathu Seminary Church, the campus, where the center and office of the Ankamali Diocese of the Orthodox Church situates, would not be permitted. “The Jacobite faction filed a case to claim ownership at Thrikkunnathu Seminary Church and they harvested a verdict against themselves in the suit. It is condescension against the honorable court that they still claim ownership at Thrikkunnathu Seminary Church”, acclaimed the Catholicos.
The Malankara Metropolitan, the ultimate owner of all movable and immovable properties at Malankara according to the 1934 Constitution said that it brought surprise to him, when found out that those who create deliberate troubles at Churches to get them locked were coming forward with claims like they were ready for any kind of give and takes.
The Catholicos exhorted the warring faction to exhibit an exemplary behavior by following the mutually accepted agreement reached upon at mediation in the presence of Chief Minister and District administration.
