STOT Seminary Nagpur Observes World Aids Day

NAGPUR: Joining hands with the agonies and pathos of People Living with HIV /AIDS, the St. Thomas Orthodox Theological Seminary, Nagpur, observed the World HIV /AIDS Day on Dec 1st, 2010.

As part of the observance of the World Aids Day STOTS arranged an enlightening ‘Satsang’ and the whole seminary community participated in the ‘Satsang’.

Fr. Philip Kuruvilla served as this year’s resource person.

The meeting was chaired by the Principal of St. Thomas Orthodox Theological Seminary, Fr. Dr. Bijesh Philip.

Fr. Philip Kuruvilla elaborated upon the seriousness of HIV /AIDS, its origin, modes of transmission, myths and legends related to the killer decease, and how to eradicate the stigma related to HIV/AIDS etc. Through his Informative presentation he cleared a number of misconceptions of future priests of the Church. The seminary community could also raise their queries and thus rise above their prejudices related to HIV/AIDS.

Fr. Philip Kuruvilla was Consultant of Christian Conference of Asia on HIV/AIDS (2006-2009) and the Director of MGOCSM Diaspora Secretariat (2006-2010).
