LOS ANGELS: St. Gregorios Orthodox Church located in Bellflower hoisted the flag for celebrating its second Parish Feast and the 108th Memorial Feast of its Patron, St. Gregorios of Parumala on last Saturday, October 31, 2010.
Rev. Fr. Philip Abraham, vicar of the parish hoisted the flag after the Holy Qurbana, as a tradition observed for beginning the Perunnal. Church members participated in the flag raising ceremony with great joy and happiness, and the atmosphere was filled with devotional songs.
The Perunnal will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2010. Morning Prayer will start at 8:00 a.m. and the Holy Qurbana begins there after. On the auspicious day, Rev. Fr. Rajesh John will be the chief celebrant and Rev. Fr. Joseph Kalapurayil and Rev. Fr. Philip Abraham co-celebrants of the Holy Qurbana (Moonninmel).
Special intercessory prayers and colorful procession will be held thereafter. An evening prayer will be held on Friday, November 5, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. Thirumeni’s full-sized portrait will be unveiled during the evening prayer.
We invite everyone to join us in this great feast prayerfully and be blessed through intercessory prayers of Parumala Thirumeni, and grace the occasion with everyone’s participation in the Holy Qurbana, nercha, fellowship lunch and harvest auction sale. The perunnal will be concluded officially by lowering flag around 1:00 p.m.
