DENVER: Newly built St. Thomas Orthodox Church, Denver, Colorado, was consecrated on October 22nd and 23rd, 2010. Metropolitan of the South West American Diocese, Alexios Mar Eusebius was the chief celebrant.

St. Thomas Orthodox Church, Denver, is built in the traditional Kerala Syrian Christian Architecture.

After evening prayers on Friday, October 22nd, the foundation stone of the Holy Altar was dedicated and thereafter the first part of the consecration took place. On Saturday, 23rd, second part of the consecration was conducted after morning prayers. Holy Tri-mass was conducted after the consecration.

Former vicars, Fr. Zachariah, Fr. Mathai Alakkottu, and Fr. Rege Mathew, as well as the Diocesan Office Manager Fr. K.Y. Wilson attended the proceedings. Fr. Johnson Punchakonam, Vicar of the parish, has played a very vital and valuable part in the successful conduct of the consecration.

Metropolitan Mar Eusebius inaugurated the public meeting. “It was a blessing for every individual to take part in Church construction for it is the eternal home for Christians. When one stands below the high rising churches, one shall raise a feeling that humans are small and frail”, opined the Metropolitan in his message.

Rev. Rick Thomas, Rev. Michael Tikkori, Dn. Gabriel Paik, Kavitha Malil, and Sheba Isaac spoke on the occasion.

K.T. Mathew and George Kurien, members of St. Thomas Orthodox Church, Denver, who led the Church construction, were honored in the meeting. Shinu Chandy welcomed the gathering and Siby Thomas moved the vote of thanks.
