AS His Holiness Moran Mar Baselios Marthoma Didymos I, the seventh Catholicos of the East in Malankara, celebrates his 90th birthday on October 29, many online sites have been set up to post greetings to the Catholicos.
The Indian Orthodox Diaspora Secretariat, Diocese of Delhi, took the lead with its Facebook posting which went online from October 21.
They have created an online page on the popular microblogging site and requested all those interested to post wishes and greetings to His Holiness. There is also a provision to send audio greetings to email: firstname.lastname@example.org

HGs Alexios Mar Eusebius and Zachariah Mar Nicholovos , the two most frequent users of Facebook, have been tagged in the link.
The faithful has been requested to send all personalised birthday greetings to His Holiness recorded on mobile phone or on any other medium at least two days before his birthday.
Short personal messages from all over the world have already started to pour in and now available online. 293 people have so far liked the album and its contents.

MTv  had last week put out the news on “Navathy of HH The Catholicos Marthoma Didymus I” with a link to the website of His Holiness and attaching a copy of the news carried in the leading daily, Malayala Manorama.
On October 29, the Catholicos will celebrate Holy Qurbana at Parumala Church at 7.30 am, where other metropolitans will assist him with the celebrations. This will be followed by a felicitation meeting at 11 am at the Parumala Seminary auditorium, where 90 deserving girls will be given financial assistance towards their marriage. Panakkadu Haidaraali Shihaab Thangal will inaugurate the meeting. Catholicos Elect Metropolitan Paulos Mar Milithios will preside over the meeting.
Most of the Orthodox churches in the Arabian Gulf will also celebrate the birthday after Holy Qurbana since October 29 falls on a Friday.
His Holiness Didimos I was born on October 29, 1921 to Ittyavira Thomas of Mulamootil House in Nedumbram near Thiruvalla and Sosamma of Chiramel House in Mavelikara.
