Consecration of St. Gregorios Chapel, Vasai Road, Mumbai

VASAI ROAD, MUMBAI: Consecration of the new chapel at Nallasopara, Vasai Road, Mumbai, built in the name of St. Gregorios of Parumala, the first saint from India will be on October 8, and 9, 2010. This chapel is associated to St. Thomas Orthodox Church, Vasai Road.

Metropolitan of the Bombay Diocese Geevarghese Mar Coorilos and Metropolitan of Trivandrum Diocese Dr. Gabriel Mar Gregorios will be the chief celebrants for consecration. Priests from the diocese and a number of faithful from the region will attend consecration services.

Fr. George Abraham, Vicar of St. Thomas Orthodox Church, Vasai Road, M.J. Chacko, General Convener, Nebu Thomas, Trustee and Sajeev P.R., the Secretary informed the details of the program to IOH.


Friday, October 8, 2010, 6.00 pm: Evening prayers followed by the first part of consecration.

Saturday, October 9, 2010, 6.30 am: Morning prayers, second part of the consecration and Holy Qurbana, which will be followed by Public Meeting and luncheon.
