Curtain Falls to GOYC with Tree Planting Ceremony

ST. THOMAS NAGAR, ABU DHABI: The Gulf Orthodox Youth Conference concluded with a message to love the nature and it reminded all that protecting nature is inevitable for the sustenance of life. To put the message into practice trees were planted to let the curtain fall for the fifth Youth Conference in Gulf.

“Love is the greatest gift of God. Those, who have kindness, can not carry the mass of words. One can accomplish the ‘dialectic of peace’ only by proclaiming war against all kinds of violence and symbols of violence’. The Church has undertaken a move to realize that peace in one’s own heart. Peace shall develop itself in everyone’s heart. The hardness that grows within human minds is disturbing us”, said Dr. Abdul Samad Samadaani in his inaugural speech of the valedictory meeting of GOYC.

Metropolitan Yuhanon Mar Polycarpos presided over the meeting. The Metropolitan also unveiled the souvenir.

Fr. George Abraham, Fr. Manoj M. Abraham, Fr. Biju P. Thomas, and Fr. John Kurian felicitated the meeting.

Awards were presented to the winners of Quiz Competition Job Sam Mathew and Bincy Babu. The best unit award for Outside India Region and the Metropolitan Award for the Best Unit in the Delhi Diocese were given to the Abu Dhabi Unit.

First installment of ‘Jyothis’, a project of UAE Zonal Committee was handed over to the General Secretary of OCYM Fr. Stephen Varghese.

Secretary of St. George Cathedral, Abu Dhabi Joykutty welcomed the gathering and John Samuel moved vote of thanks.
