MUSCAT: The Sneha Sandesham Convention and family conference organised by Mar Gregorios Orthodox Christian Youth Movement as part of 15 days Lent and Assumption of St Mary ended on a highly successful note on August 13 evening.

Hundreds of faithful participated in the family conference held at the St Thomas Church Hall in Ruwi on the theme ‘Kingdom of God is within the Family.’

The conference was inaugurated by Fr James Geevarghese, Mar Gregorios Orthodox Church Vicar & President of Youth Movement. The classes were led by well-known counselor Brother Aji Varghese from the Sneha Sandesham team.

The speech was followed by an interesting question and answers session, open discussion and variety entertainment programmes. The convention concluded with benediction and dinner for all participants.

Fr James Geevarghese presided over the closing ceremony which saw felicitations for Fr C C Kuriakose, P K Thomas (Sabha Managing Committee Member), John Thomas (Secretary-MGOC) and Abraham Mathew.

The week-long convention was conducted smoothly due to the efforts of MGOCYM members — Biju Parumala (Vice President, MGOCYM), Mathew P Thomas (Secretary), Mathew John (Treasurer) and Joemon Samuel (Convener).

After the Muscat convention, the Sneha Sandesham team also visited St George Orthodox Church in Wilayat of Sohar and the Orthodox congregation in Nizwa and addressed the faithful before returning to Muscat. They will also be touring UAE for the convention and family conference at St Thomas Orthodox Cathedral, Dubai, from August 29 to September 9.
