MUSCAT: In the fast paced advanced life styles of expatriates working in the Middle East, one should strive towards reviving lost values and Christian beliefs, said Fr C C Kuriakose. He was speaking at the opening of the Sneha Sandesam’s week-long convention held at the Mar Gregorios Orthodox Church (MGOC), Muscat.

The Mar Gregorios Orthodox Christian Youth Movement (MGOCYM), the youth wing of MGOC, is holding the Vachana Sishrusha from August 6 to August 14 as part of the 15-day lent and Assumption of St Mary.

The convention was inaugurated by MGOC Vicar Rev Fr James Geevarghese by lighting the traditional lamp on August 6 evening.

“We need to imbibe old values and good deeds of kindness of yore.We should love each other and extend acts of kindness towards fellow beings and follow Lental and religious practices,” said Fr Kuriakose in his speech.

He also emphasized on family bonding and the need to look back on the good old days to uphold these golden values which we are slowly losing out. One should also make earnest efforts to regain them, he mentioned.

The highlight of the Vacahna Sishrusha will be a family conference on August 13, Friday on the theme “Kingdom of God is within the Family.” Brother Aji Varghese from the Sneha Sandesam team and a counselor will be incharge of the session.
