Mar Gregorios Orthodox Church Muscat to host Sneha Sandesam, family conference from Aug 6-14

MUSCAT: The Mar Gregorios Orthodox Christian Youth Movement (MGOCYM), the youth wing of the Mar Gregorios Orthodox Church, Muscat will hold a Vachana Sishrusha from August 6 to August 14 as part of the 15-day lent and Assumption of St Mary.

Sneha Sandesam, the department of mobile mission of the Malankara Orthodox Church will arrive in Muscat on August 5 to take part in the week-long programme which begins the next day.

Sneha Sandesam works solely for evangelisation, spiritual awakening in the Church, social service and divinisation of humanity. They will be singing Christian songs with the help of musical instruments, preach the word of God, hold public gospel meeting, counselling, intercession and dedication service as part of the programme.

The Muscat-bound troupe comprises Fr Geevarghese K K Nallila, Fr C C Kuriakose, Fr John Varghese, Fr Mathew Philip and Brothers C V Jose and Aji Varghese.

The programme inauguration is scheduled for August 6 at 7 pm after the evening prayers. There will be Gana Sishrusha, samarpana prayer for youth and children and speeches on August 7, 8 and 9. On August 10, evening prayers and Holy Qurbana will be held at the Ghala Church.

The highlight of the Vachana Sishrusha will be a family conference on the theme “King of God is within the Family” on August 13, Friday at 6.30 pm. All the programmes will be held at the St Thomas Church, Ruwi.

The programme concludes on August 14 with celebration of a Holy Tri mass from 7.15 pm followed by Nercha Vellambu.

Metropolitan Dr Geevarghese Mar Osthathios started Sneha Sandesham in 1993 as part of the Mobile Mission and Communication of Indian Orthodox Church with the Mavelikara Mission Training Centre as the headquarters.
