FLORIDA: Harmony 2010, the Eastern Family Conference of the Diocese of South West America begins on Friday, July 9th, 2010 at the Holy Cross Catholic Church, St. Petersburg, Florida (7851 54th Avenue North, St Petersburg, FL). The conference will span for three days, Friday through Sunday.
Metropolitan of the Diocese of South West America Metropolitan Alexios Mar Eusebius, Fr. Geevarghese John Vallikkattil, Dn. Geevarghese Koshy (Abu George), priests and faithful from all parishes of the region will attend the conference.
‘He is our peace’ (Eph 2:14) is the theme of this years conference.

The Conference Committee, which included all Achens, two representatives from each parish and MGOCSM of the region has worked really hard to arrange all the needed ingredients to gift us a wonderful family conference this year. They deserve our congratulation. This will surely be a mutually enriching and uplifting experience for all”, said Metropolitan Alexios Mar Eusebius in his greeting message.
“A family conference of the Malankara Orthodox Church in the South East of USA has been taking place for almost for a decade. This is a noble effort for the benefit of our families in this region and especially for the Youth”, said Fr. George Daniel, the Family Conference Coordinator for the Diocese of South West America.
“Deliberations at the conference are expected to be thought provoking and practical inputs will help us full tank for our spiritual journey during this summer”, stressed Fr. Dr. Jacob Mathew, the coordinator of the conference.
“Fr. Geevarghese Vallikkattil is part of Sukhada Retreat Center,Kolencherry, Eranakulam Dt. Kerala. Fr. Geevarghese is a Man of true Christian witness and a speaker, who delivers out from the background of sheer experiences in life. He can really inspire us”, affirms Blesson Mannil, the secretary of the conference.
“We all know that the economy is struggling and many are finding it difficult to unearth financial resources to dedicate for even spiritual endeavors. Therefore, this year we are venturing something new. We are joining hands with Asia Net USA to produce a half hour Souvenir Documentary on the Family and Youth Conference, Harmony 2010. AsiaNET News will beam the documentary all over the world. There will also be a chance for a select few to pronounce a ’20 second’s felicitation’ as well, which will also be support to mitigate constrains in the budget”, said George Varghese, the Treasurer of the Conference.
