KOTTAYAM: There is an increased chance for induction of more dioceses into the Malankara Orthodox Church according to a proposal submitted to the Malankara Metropolitan by the Working Committee that met on May 1st, 2010.

Nilackal, Adoor, Kottarakkara and Brahmavaar are the four newly proposed dioceses. The Holy Episcopal Synod and the Malankara Managing Committee will discuss this proposal in detail to come to the final decision.

At present, Ahmedabad and Bangalore dioceses have existing vacancies of bishops and when four new dioceses also come up, there could be possibilities of serious discussions over new permutations and equations.

Consecration of seven new Metropolitans will be on Wednesday, May 12th, 2010.

  1. We should think about a new Diocese for Gulf Countries. It can be based in Dubai and to be known as Middle East Diocese

  2. The Creation of Adoor and Kottarakara will reduce the parishes of Kollam and Thumpamon Diocese,so either Kottarakara or Adoor should only be created. Also the seven Bishops are consecrated to fill up the gaps of vacant seats of Ahmedabad,Bangalore,Delhi,Kunnamkulam,Kottayam Central,so by creating more diocese more bishops have to be consecrated.

The following names can be considered in future while naming the Bishops which so far rarely used in our church.

MAR JULIUS, MAR ANTIMUS (both ending with os as usual Episcopal names), MAR APREM, MAR ISAAC, MAR BALAI, MAR SEMAON as given in 5th DIPTYCHS (Thubden).

If i am wrong just clarify who knows better in this regard
