97th Annual Feast of First Catholicos Baselios Paulose I Bava

PIRAVAM: Preparations are underway for the 97th annual feast of the First Catholicos of Malankara Baselios Paulose I, (Murimattathil Bava) at Pampakuda Cheriya Palli, where the Pontiff was laid to rest for ever. The feast falls this year on May 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.

Baselios Marthoma Didymos I, the Catholicos of Malankara will be the chief celebrant for the feast. Catholicos Elect Paulose Mar Milithios, Metropolitan of Kandanadu West Diocese, Dr. Mathews Mar Severios and Metropolitan of Ankamali Diocese Youhanon Mar Polycarpos will assist the Catholicos.

The pilgrim procession will begin from Kolenchery, the birth place of the first Catholicos of Malankara on May 2nd to end at Pampakuda Cheriya Palli. The feast was kicked off with the flag hoisting on Sunday, April 25th, after Holy Qurbana by Fr. Abraham Palappillil.
