Chicago: Dn. Samuel (Saju) Varghese was ordained to Sub-Deacon on Saturday, April 17, 2010 by Alexios Mar Eusebius, Metropolitan of the Diocese of South-West America, in the presence of Zachariah Mar Nicholovos, Auxiliary Metropolitan of the Diocese of Northeast America.

Dn. Samuel is a member of St. Gregorios Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church, Oak Park in Chicago. He is currently entering his fifth and final year of studies at the Orthodox Theological Seminary in Kottayam, Kerala towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Divinity (B.D) and a Graduate Degree in Sacred Theology (GST).

Dn. Samuel is the son of Peter and Lilly Varghese (Charivukalayil House, Mylapra, Pathanamthitta), the second of three brothers.
