CHICAGO: Saju Sam Varghese will be ordained to the order of Sub-Deacon on Saturday, April 17, 2010 at his home parish, St. Gregorios Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church, Oak Park, Illinois.
Alexios Mar Eusebius, Metropolitan of the Diocese of South-West America will officiate the ordination services. Auxiliary Metropolitan of the Diocese of North-East America Zachariah Mar Nicholavos will also attend the services.
Saju is currently enrolled in the Bachelor of Divinity (B.D.) and the Graduate in Sacred Theology (GST) programs at the Orthodox Theological Seminary, Kottayam, Kerala. Prior to his Seminary education, Saju graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Religious Studies with Philosophy major from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Saju is the son of Peter and Lilly Varghese (Charivukalayil, Mylapra, Pathanamthitta) and brother to Liju and Joju Varghese.
