Martha Mariam Samajam South Region Annual Retreat 2010

HOUSTON: Martha Mariam Vanitha Samajam Southern Region Annual Retreat 2010 was held on March 27at St. Thomas Orthodox Church, Houston.

The theme of the retreat was “You are appointed for suffering” from1 Thessalonians 3:1-10. Fr. Dr. Bijesh Philip was the keynote speaker for the retreat. Fr. Bijesh gave a soul-searching presentation on the theme.

The retreat was inaugurated by lighting the ceremonial lamp by the Clergy. Corepiscopos Gheevarghis Aroopala, Vicar of St.Thomas Houston, led the opening prayer. Lalu Zachariah performed the prayer song to mark the beginging of the retreat.

Cor-Episcopos Geevarghis Aroopala, Fr Mammen Mathew, Fr. P.M. Cheriyan, Fr. Thampan Varghese, were among the attendees.

Sally Thampan (General Secretary MMVS) and Ammini Thomas (Regional Secretary –Southern Region MMVS) welcomed over 150 delegates and priests to the retreat. Diana Mathai (Secretary Martha MMVS St. Thomas, Houston) proposed Vote of Thanks. Sheena Mani was the event MC at the function.
