St. Thomas Philadelphia donates $15,000 towards Haiti Relief Fund

PHILADELPHIA: St. Thomas Orthodox Church, Philadelphia donated $15,000 towards the Haiti Relief Fund.

Ms. Donna Palmira, the Chief Operating Officer, Red Cross, Pennsylvania received the check from Vicar, Fr. M.K. Kuriakose, Secretary, Paul C. John and Trustee, Georgy John.

While receiving the check Ms. Donna Palmira commended and recognized the humanitarian activities of St. Thomas Orthodox Church, Philadelphia on behalf of the Red Cross, USA.

“Parishioners of St. Thomas, Philadelphia made a good life in USA, the Land of Opportunities, and they were willing to share a part of their good fortunes with the people, who suffer hardships”, remembered the Vicar, Fr. M.K. Kuriakose.

Parishioners of St. Thomas, Philadelphia are the highest tithe givers in the USA from among the Orthodox parishes and this reflect the exemplary leadership of Fr. M.K. Kuriakose, the Vicar, who also does not shy away from tithing to the maximum. This facilitates to the St. Thomas Orthodox Church, Philadelphia to be the role model for humanitarian activities for the Orthodox presence in United States.
