The Malankara Association 2010 will meet at Mount Horeb Ashram, Sasthamkotta on February 17, 2010 at 1pm to elect 7 priests to the episcopate.
Mount Horeb Ashram, a monastery of the Malankara Orthodox Church, was started in 1991 with the aim of social and educational activities, ascetic life training, spiritual confederations etc.
The vision of Fr. Dr. C. T. Eapen, Chavadiyil, Adoor, to form a brotherhood that would control the activities of ‘Dr. C. T. Eapen Trust’, initiated by him, was materialized by the Catholicos Baselios Marthoma Mathews II.
This Trust is spread in 65 acres of land in the banks of Sasthamkotta fresh water lake. In this land, a group of energetic, devoted, unmarried priests under the patronage of the Catholicos Baselios Mathews II, formed the Mount Horeb Ashram.
Here the ashram community engaged in bible classes, retreats and spiritual guidance programs. Presently, the Catholicos Baselios Marthoma Didymos I is the Managing Trustee.
Mar Theodosius Memorial Hospital owned by the diocese of Kollam is just 2 km. from the ashram.

At present, there are 7 members in the ashram. Fr. V. M. James is the superior and for the coming election he is one among the 11 official candidates of the Church.
