ABU DHABI: Martha Mariam Samajam – UAE Zone- 6th Annual Conference was held successfully on Friday, December 4, 2009 at St. George Orthodox Cathedral Abu Dhabi.

The theme of the conference was “Set your affection on things above not on things on the earth” (Col: 3:2)

Metropolitan Dr. Zachariah Mar Theophilos, the President of MMS introduced the theme at the conference.

Fr. Saji Mathew (St. Mary Orthodox Cathedral – Bahrain), Fr. Patros Joy,(St. Thomas Orthodox Cathedral, Dubai), Fr. Jacob Thomas (St. Gregorios Orthodox Church, Fujairah) and I. Thomas (Secretary- St. George Orthodox Cathedral, Abu Dhabi) spoke on the occasion.

Metropolitan Mar Theophilos distributed the Prizes to all the winners of the various competitions.

Bessy Babu Kurian was elected as the Zonal Secretary for 2010. She is from Dubai Unit.

An excellent pleasure trip also was arranged for the delegates to see Abu Dhabi city.

M.C. KURIAKOSE RAMBAN GOLDEN JUBILEE MEMORIAL EVER ROLLING TROPHY was awarded to St. George Orthodox Cathedral MMS Unit for obtaining the highest points for the various competitions held during the year 2009 in Zonal level.

Fr. Johnson Daniel, the Vice President of MMS, UAE Zone welcomed the gathering and the Zonal Secretary Lizzy Alex proposed vote of thanks.

Around 400 delegates from various units attended the UAE zonal conference.
