BENSALEM: The Northeast American Diocese of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church, unveiled its new project – Mavurbo – at the annual MGOCSM & FOCUS Conference in St. Gregorios Orthodox Church, Bensalem, Pennsylvania on November 28, 2009.
The project Mavurbo is initiated by the Northeast American Diocese, in cooperation with the Sruthi School of Liturgical Music in Kottayam, will digitize the daily offices of prayer (otherwise known as Shima Namaskaram) of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church.
Through this project, the Diocese hopes that the faithful will be invited to share and participate, in the rich treasure house of prayer the Church has maintained and practiced for centuries.
During the formal inauguration of this project, Metropolitan Zachariah Mar Nicholovos stressed the importance of prayer, and especially emphasized how we often underestimate the beauty and meaning of the liturgical prayers of our Church. Metropolitan offered the prayerful hope, that through this project, the faithful of the Diocese and all people, will appreciate our ancient Christian faith expressed through the powerful and heartfelt prayers of Christ’s Church.
