Church Celebrated the 107 Dukrono of Saint Parumala Mar Gregorios

PARUMALA: The faithful of the Malankara Orthodox Church celebrated the 107 Dukrono of Saint Gregorios Parumala with ardent devotion and religious fervor.

Parumala turned into a sea of humanity as thousands of devotees turned up to seek the intercessory prayers at the saint’s tomb and offer prayers.

The holy tri-mass was celebrated on November 2, 2009 at the Parumala Church. The supreme head of the Malankara Orthodox Church, Baselios Marthoma Didymos-I, was the chief celebrant on the occasion. Dr. Mathews Mar Severios and Mathews Mar Theodosius were the co-celebrants for the Tri-Mass. Seven other Metropolitans of the Church were the present at the Holy Qurbana. Metropolitan of Thiruvananthapuram Dr. Gabriel Mar Gregorios delivered the sermon at the Holy Qurbana.

His Holiness the Catholicose later inaugurated the annual meeting of the MGOCSM. Kerala Minister P.J. Joseph and Cini Actor Capt. Raju spoke on the occasion.

The annual pilgrim week celebrations at the Parumala Church were concluded with a holy Raasa followed by the Kodiyirakku (lowering of the flag) ceremony later in the afternoon on November 2, 2009.
