Bellflower St. Gregorios celebrates Perunnal on October 31

LOS ANGELES: St. Gregorios Orthodox Church located in Bellflower hoisted the flag for celebrating its first Parish Feast and the 107th Memorial Feast of its Patron saint, Mar Gregorios of Parumala on last Saturday, October 17, 2009.

Fr. Philip Abraham, vicar of the parish hoisted the flag after the Holy Qurbana, marked the beginning the Perunnal. The faithful of the parish joined the function with great joy and happiness singing devotional songs.

The Perunnal will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2009. Morning Prayer will start at 8:30 am and the Holy Qurbana begins there after. Fr. Mathai Alakkot, Fr Siomo George, and Fr Philip Abraham will be celebrants for the Moonninmel Qurbana

Special intercessory prayers and Rassa will be held thereafter. Harvest festival will also be celebrated on the occasion. The perunnal will be concluded officially by lowering the flag around 1:00 pm.

A Perunnal Committee is vigorously working under the leadership of Fr. Philip Abraham, Mathai Polachira, Vivek Nambiar, P.T. Thomas, K.C. Jacob, Lalu Kurian, Saji George, Varghese Chacko, and Pothen Thekkuveettil.
