This is a great moment for me to read about our church. A wonderful feeling, that my father Rev. Fr. Philip Chempothara is still remembered. My memory in Vizagh is ever fresh. Enjoyed every bit of the moment with Papa as he worked along with the church members in making a difference to the community especially to people who suffered from Leprosy by providing food, clothing, emotional support, medical support visiting their centers and encouraging them with words of kindness, our church touched people’s lives doing the most good for the community at any given time. We had the first choir, with Sheeba and, Ruben Peter, Preeti and Priya Varghese, George Maijo uncle (fondly called by me) and many more people. Have no idea where you all are but, yes as youths you all jumped in for any good cause to help the community, the elders encouraged us and set beautiful a path for us to follow and help others in need. Thank you, this was one of the favorite assignments of my Father and the members were our family. My father always said, that the parishioners of St. Stephens church is always Compassionate, Passionate, uplifting, brave with an open heart to help and give. Thank you all from Somi on behalf of my Papa. Rev. Fr. Philip Chempothara.

The photograph of the Church building is so attractive. Ellavarkum perunaal mangalngal, may God bless you all. I thought Vizag church was much larger in terms of number of member families. Request you all pray for a spiritual revival in the new generation of our faith in the West. Best wishes from Chicago
